Description

Deadly Dust: Complying with Respirable Crystalline Silica
For managers with safety responsibilities, many things come to mind when the phrase "health hazard" is brought up.  Health hazards extend far beyond our traditional ideas.  In 2016 OSHA formalized 1910.1053 to regulate employee exposure to this harmful form of dust. A review of the standard and the detail of Best Management Practices for employers will be addressed.

Guest Speaker:

Thomas R. Giffin
Compliance Specialist
August Mack Environmental, Inc.

Mr. Giffin offers experience in OSHA compliance including safety auditing, program development, training, and ergonomic assessment, as well as environmental compliance assistance reporting.  He is a Certified MODAPTS Practitioner, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from Ball State University.

The Central Indiana Safety Council invites you to attend our monthly meetings to connect with like-minded professionals in the safety and health industries.

Our mission and purpose is:
1. To provide safety and health awareness in the workplace.
2. To provide a forum to address safety and health issues and concerns of mutual interest.
3. To provide educational programming to promote safety and health in the workplace.

Meetings are typically the first Thursday of each month.
