DESCRIPTION:Deadly Dust: Complying with Respirable Crystalline Silica\n\nFor managers with safety responsibilities\, many things come to mind when the phrase "health hazard" is brought up.  Health hazards extend far beyond our traditional ideas.  In 2016 OSHA formalized 1910.1053 to regulate employee exposure to this harmful form of dust. A review of the standard and the detail of Best Management Practices for employers will be addressed.\n\n\n\nGuest Speaker:\n\nThomas R. Giffin\n\nCompliance Specialist\n\nAugust Mack Environmental\, Inc.\n\n\n\nMr. Giffin offers experience in OSHA compliance including safety auditing\, program development\, training\, and ergonomic assessment\, as well as environmental compliance assistance reporting.  He is a Certified MODAPTS Practitioner\, and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Management from Ball State University.\n\n\n\nThe Central Indiana Safety Council invites you to attend our monthly meetings to connect with like-minded professionals in the safety and health industries.\n\n \n\nOur mission and purpose is:\n\n1.
