9 am - Registration & Coffee/Donuts
10 am - Launch Volunteer Projects
Description
Operation Weatherization is a chance for you to spend a day working with others, showing you care about your community.
Volunteers will work in teams at selected energy inefficient homes completing simple weatherization tasks such as caulking, weather stripping and plastic wrapping windows.
Families in our community are living on the edge, surviving from paycheck to paycheck, unable or barely able to meet their expenses - and just one doctor's visit or car problem away from crisis. Weatherization can help reduce energy costs, prevent potential health problems and help keep families on track to meet their basic needs.
When individuals and families THRIVE, so does our community.
Teams of five to eight members will each weatherize two pre-selected homes.
