Description
Professor Peter Fritzsche, Trowbridge Professor of History at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, will be presenting a lecture, titled "Myths of Patriotic Union, the Nation's Betrayal, Jewish Conspiracy and My Innocence: On the Anniversaries of the Armistice and the Reichskristallnacht, 1918 - 1938.” Fritzsche will be speaking on the centennial of the end of the First World War (Nov. 11, 1918), the 80th anniversary of the Nazi Reichskristallnacht (Nov. 9, 1938), and the links between the two.
Fritzsche is a globally-recognized expert on the history of Europe, recipient of Humboldt Foundation, Guggenheim, and other grants, and author of more than a dozen books.
