Andrea Carlile 

Author of The War That Came Home

Andrea Carlile is the spouse of a 12-year military veteran, Wes Carlile, who was diagnosed with PTSD in 2009. In 2012, Andrea wrote The War That Came Home, a novel scripting the couple?s personal journey with Wes?s PTSD and how it affected their family.

The Carliles are currently featured in the documentary, When War Comes Home, a film about how families are affected after veterans return home from war, which will be shown at the Heartland Film Festival this October 20-30.

Andrea has spoken at multiple conferences, churches, universities, and military events to raise awareness for military families and the long term effects of war. She has also been an advocate for domestic violence awareness and the empowering of women and was recognized in 2014 by the Indiana National Guard for outstanding work in the community for military families. Andrea currently works in Resource Development for Dove Harbor.
