Join the festivities of Anderson's Sesquicentennial Celebration! On Sunday, August 23rd, gear up for Artistry AND Imagination a community arts collaborative project. Artistry AND Imagination is a day that showcases Anderson?s vibrant arts community from 1-4 pm with free performances and activities - become Michelangelo and strap paint brushes to your arms as you paint the ?Sistine Chapel? under scaffolding, learn to play the violin, take a ballet barre class, get a behind the scenes tour of the Historic Paramount Theatre and so much more! Activities are family-focused and a perfect introduction to the arts for youth. Following the activities in Dickmann Town Center Park, the Anderson Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert inside the Paramount Theatre. The Anderson Center for the Arts, Anderson Young Ballet Theatre, The Paramount Theatre, Mainstage Theatre, Floricante and Anderson Area Youth Chorale will band together to celebrate the arts. Community Canvases will be on display during the event. All aspects of Artistry AND Imagination are free to the public. In the case of inclement weather all activities will take place inside the Paramount Theatre.
