Adaptive Reopening Series: Session 2
Emotional Intelligence (EQ): A Key to Effective Leadership
During the Pandemic
During the Pandemic
Presented by Dr. Becky Haskett and Shane Nevers, EQ describes an ability to monitor your own emotions as well as the emotions of others, to distinguish between and label different emotions correctly, and to use emotional information to guide your thinking and behavior and influence that of others. This is a powerful tool for business leaders during a time of uncertainty and workplace adaptation. Becky completed her doctoral studies on emotional intelligence and has published a workbook/e-book in this area. A 24-year veteran at Anderson University, Becky focuses on strategic management, organizational systems, and human capital. Her clients have included the Department of Homeland Security, Edward Jones Financial Advisors, and the Indiana Business College.
- Shane is a 2008 Anderson University Falls School of Business graduate with a B.A. in Business Management. He has been working with TLC Management, Inc., based out of Marion, the parent company for 18 skilled nursing and rehab campuses across Indiana with four expansion buildings in Florida. He has served as the Senior Administrator for Rolling Meadows Health and Rehab, Colonial Oaks Health and Rehab and is currently the Senior Executive Director at Creekside Health and Rehab located in Indianapolis. He currently employs 175 employees and 100 residents.
