Lyla will be speaking to us about her journey as an entrepreneur and the joys and roadblocks she experienced along the way.\n\n \n\n\nBiography:\n\nLyla Graddy has been a licensed cosmetologist since 1968. Her career has included being a salon owner\; a partner at Carpet! Carpet!\, running 4 locations in Chesterfield\, Noblesville (Carpets by J. Michael)\, Marion\, and Muncie\; a director with Mary Kay Cosmetics\; and co-owner of a real estate office in Yorktown and a home improvement company.\n \n\nIn 2005 she opened Lookworthy Face and Body Retreat\, growing it from a small permanent cosmetics business to a full medical spa offering facials\, massage\, waxing\, and specialty treatments such as microneedling\, HydraFacial\, chemical peels\, and body sculpting.\n \n\nLyla's passion for people has made business ownership her forte. She also has a passion for mentoring staff and fellow women in the beauty profession.\n \n\nAs the Lookworthy owner\, she believes in the value of education for the spa business and strives to make sure Lookworthy is up to date with the newest treatments and products. She is proud of Lookworthy's status as the only spa in the state of Indiana carrying the Lucrece and Bio Jouvance product lines.\n \n\nLyla is passionate about furthering her business and esthetics knowledge. "Providing education for our staff to be knowledgeable is something I make sure of\," she said. \n \n\nIn 2019 alone\, Lyla and Lookworthy staff have hosted national educators from or attended educational classes with iS Clinical\; Alastin (a medical grade product line exclusive to doctor's offices and medical spas) and Societe\, the newest product lines added to Lookworthy's shelves\; jane iredale mineral cosmetics\, including an upcoming class on the line's new Beyond Matte liquid foundation\; and HydraFacial\, a celebrity favorite facial treatment.
