Cindy Lanane has been a long-time advocate for social justice\, human rights\, and victim services. She strongly supports prevention and intervention for domestic violence and sexual assault issues. Cindy is the Associate Director of the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) where she has worked for 21 years. She began her involvement in the domestic violence movement in 1982 as a volunteer for Alternatives\, Inc.\, and then worked as the Director of the Victim Advocacy Program in Madison County.

\nAs the first victim advocate in the Madison County Criminal Justice System\, Cindy was instrumental in the development of a victim service program in both the Madison County and City of Anderson Police Departments. She also provided assistance to the Delaware County Sheriff&rsquo\; Department in the development of a victim services program. Cindy taught Victimology as an adjunct faculty member from 1994 to 2015 for Anderson University.

\nCindy has resided in Anderson\, Indiana\, her entire life. After attending local public schools\, she graduated with a degree in Political Science and Social Work from Ball State University. She has served upon the boards of Alternatives\, Inc.\, Indiana Victim Assistance Network\, The Paramount Foundation\, CASA\, and currently serves as president of the board of the Anderson Symphony Orchestra. Cindy and her husband Tim have been married for 37 years and have three daughters\; Angelique (Mark)\, Katie (Roark) and Meaghan\; two granddaughters\, Nathalie\, and Isabel\; and a grandson\, Isaac.
