She represents the City of Anderson and portions of Madison County. Recently elected to her seventh term\, Terri serves as the Democratic Caucus Whip. During her time in the House\, she has championed legislation to help improve the lives of Hoosiers and to advance the state's economic climate through transportation\, technology\, education\, small business\, and workforce development. She serves as a founder and co-chair of the bipartisan Small Business Caucus.\n\n\n\nRep. Austin is a member of the Board of Trustees for Women in Government\, a national nonprofit\, bipartisan organization of women state legislators. She is currently a member of the NCSL Natural Resources & Infrastructure Standing Committee. Terri has been a featured speaker at national and international conferences on education and the workforce\, transportation and infrastructure policy and transportation funding.\n\n\n\nTerri is married to Michael Austin\, an attorney in Anderson. They are the parents of two adult sons. She is a member of the Park Place Church of God in Anderson.
