FRIDAY  |  JUN 12 2015\n\n\n\nGUEST SPEAKER\n\nDr. Rebecca Haskett\n\n TOPIC\n\n "Communicating with Social and Emotional Intelligence (EQ)"\n\nCommunication skills\, honesty\, interpersonal skills\, teamwork\, and leadership were listed as the most important attributes employers are seeking in job applicants\, according to the recent report:  Job Outlook 2014\, distributed by The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE\, 2014).  Our session will focus on awareness and development of communications skills related to the concept of social and emotional intelligence (EQ). A growing body of research on EQ suggests that it is possible to raise your level of EQ\, at any age\, through emotional learning activities (Goleman\, 2014).  \n\n \n\nDr. Haskett teaches in the areas of management\, non-profit leadership\, and strategic planning. She completed her EdD in higher education at Indiana University\, with a minor in non-profit strategic management. Her dissertation focused on emotional intelligence (EQ) and effective teaching\, which has led to many speaking engagements on the topic. She is a certified trainer in the TalentSmart Emotional Intelligence training curriculum and the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal\, and has been certified in the BarOn EQ-i Emotional Intelligence assessment. Her past experience includes 17 years as a CPA for General Motors\, along with leading the organizational strategic planning process. She holds an MBA\, has an accounting degree from Ball State University\, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
