SUMMARY:AU Scholar's Day
DESCRIPTION:Monumental Milestone\n\nfor AU Science and Engineering Event\n\n\n\nThe tenth annual Anderson University Scholars' Day will take place in Reardon Lobby on April 30 at 11 a.m. Participating students will present their work to the campus community in a fair-booth-style event.\n\n\n\nAU's Scholars' Day began in 2010 when Dr. Chad Wallace\, dean of the School of Science and Engineering\, came up with the idea of highlighting student research on campus when he was at a conference with some of his students presenting their work. Dr. Wallace believes that this an opportunity for students to get hands-on experience. "The AU faculty and students roll up their sleeves and partner together because we believe that learning is best accomplished by doing\," said Dr. Wallace.\n\n\n\nAccording to AU Provost Marie Morris\, AU Scholars' Day also serves as a model for other students to know that they\, too\, can pursue this scholarly path. "Every year\, I am amazed at how articulate AU students are as they talk about their scholarship. Their competence in their subject matter and enthusiasm is stimulating and a highlight of the academic year\," said Morris.
